Jest członkiem teatru „Impro Atak!” w Łodzi, grupy „7 Kobiet w różnym wieku”, Irlandzko-polskiego duetu „Which is Which”, a także europejskiego projektu improwizacji „Ohana”. Katarzyna Chmara jest współorganizatorką Międzynarodowego Festiwalu Improwizacji Teatralnej „Improdrom” w Bydgoszczy. Często prowadzi warsztaty teatralne i impro w kraju i za granica. Z wykształcenia jest aktorką po łódzkiej filmówce, tam również kończy swoje studia doktoranckie. Pracuje w Teatrze Kameralnym w Bydgoszczy.
